This is the first department which began functioning from 1956.  At present Sri. V.N.DESAI is the head of section with seven lecturers to manage the affairs of the department.   The department also takes Civil Engineering Constultancy works for private and Government.  Projects.  Students are also actively participating in such schemes.  The department has conducted many training programmes in various civil engineering field and also in multidisciplinary field for the teachers.  Almost all the students have been employed in the campus placement.  The department has a grant to the tune of Rs 7 lakhs under AICTE MODROB scheme for modernising the material testing lab.
