The department began functioning from 1992.  It is headed by Sri. M.V.Brahmaprakash and with six lecturers in this department.  The department is well equipped with the latest equipments as per the requirements of the new syllabus.  The students of the technical exhibition five times including this year.  Every year the students are coming out successfully and secured distinctions and first classes.  Many students have procured jobs through campus interview.  The department has received a grant of Rs 6 lakhs under AICTE MODROB Scheme to set up the advanced  Micro-processor lab.
