The department began functioning during 1958 and at present it is fully equipped with modern equipments as per the current syllabus.  At present the department is headed by Sri. V.C.HIREMATH and with five lecturers to manage the department.  This departmenthas the distinction of making 100% placements through the campus interviews.  The department has a grant to the tune of Rs 7 Lakhs under AICTE MODROB scheme for modernising the CNC lab.
